Pad mount primary metering cabinets, 15kV to 35kV.
Four dead-front, three-phase cabinet models across the 15, 25, and 35 kV voltage classes. Radial or loop feed, configured to utility-specific standards. Domestically manufactured, ANSI C57.12.28 compliant, NEMA 3R.
Portfolio at a glance
A complete pad mount primary metering portfolio.
Brooks manufactures dead-front pad mount primary metering cabinets across the full distribution voltage range, configured to each utility’s standards and supplied to the level of assembly the project requires.
Full 15–35 kV range
Four standard models — Compact, Standard, Electrak, and Large Load — spanning 15 kV through 35 kV, three-phase, for radial or loop feeds.
Built to utility specification
Material, phase, feed type, line/load bushing count, instrument-transformer provisioning, and metering options are all configured to the utility’s own standards and requirements.
Supplied assembled & wired
Cabinets can be supplied with instrument transformers installed, assembled, and wired, ready for installation — or provisioned for utility installation, depending on the model and requirement.
Four standard models, 15 kV to 35 kV.
All models are dead-front, three-phase, bolted NEMA 3R construction, and conform to ANSI C57.12.28. Radial or loop feed.

Common to every standard model.
High-voltage GPO-3 barriers between phases and dead-front for phase isolation.
200A / 600A air-insulated bushing connections, fully isolated from high-voltage hazards.
Padlocking handle, 3-point shoot-bolt latching, and captivated penta-head bolt locking on both doors.
Stainless steel hinges for long operational life, with door prop rods for maintenance.
Universal mounting plates accept various NEMA outdoor instrument transformers — agnostic to CT/VT manufacturer.
Tin-plated copper bussing for corrosion resistance and longevity.
Cross-kinked roof for strength and water runoff; standard ground lugs.
Screened louvers for tamper-resistant protection and thermal relief.
Multiple parking stands per phase; all bushing locations provided for field customization.
Slide-in CT/VT rails for faster transformer service.
The Electrak shares the same core construction as the standard models, adding individual pullout shelves to simplify transformer change-outs, retrofits, and maintenance.
- Individual pullout shelves hold up to 400 lbs each of CT/VT equipment.
- Tray pulls forward and locks, then lifts away from the sliding rack for service.
- Reduces time and improves worker safety during transformer change-outs.

Brooks is agnostic to instrument-transformer manufacturer and can install or provision per the utility’s preference. An integrated revenue-metering option is available on request.
Instrument transformers
Universal mounting plates accept various NEMA outdoor CTs and VTs. Brooks can install instrument transformers and supply the unit fully assembled and wired, or provision the cabinet for utility installation. CTs are typically ceiling-mounted; VTs are placed at ground level.
Optional integrated meter socket
A customizable transformer-rated meter socket for revenue metering is available, supplied with test switch and secondary wiring configured to the utility’s meter form and wiring requirements. Specify meter form and wiring details at time of quote.
